WAC Lighting Receives Best Of The Best Marketing Excellence Award For Creative Displays
September 27, 2012

WAC Lighting was honored recently by The Electrical Distributor (tED), the official publication of the National Association of Electrical Distributors, with a 2012 Best of the Best Marketing Excellence Award for its Custom Display Program in the Creative Display category.

“We are honored to receive this Best of the Best Marketing Award from tED Magazine,” said WAC Lighting President Shelley Wald.  “Not all lighting distributors are the same, and therefore, one specific display program will not accommodate all showrooms.  To address lighting distributors’ individual needs, we decided to take action last year and implement a custom display program.”

The WAC Lighting Distributor Display Package launched the program with an initial display order that included a wide variety of products.  Distributors received a free display complete with reimbursement on the materials and labor required to build it, along with other discounts and special payment terms. Designed with a clean white background, the architectural styled displays can be customized in many ways to feature a wide range of WAC fixtures, which are just limited by customers’ imagination.  Distributors receive either one 10’ display with an 8’ grid or two 5’x5’ grids with backdrops, as well as four Beauty Spot accent luminaires.

“Within a year of the introduction of the custom display program, we placed more than 50 custom displays in various dealers throughout the U.S. and Canada,” said Ms. Wald.  “Due to its incredible success, we extended the Display Program to many customers this year.”

According to Rob Parsley of Lighting by Gregory, “I wanted to again express my thanks for the over-the-top job that WAC’s team performed on their display.  Between the colors selected, the creative use of the boxes to show-off individual fixtures and the integration of all types of LED products, we now have a powerful sales tool.  WAC has packed so much into a small area, and yet it is user-friendly and compelling.

“The display is certainly is a showstopper, and I appreciate the transformation of the WAC section of our showroom into a wall of style, good taste and functionality that will generate dollars,” continued Mr. Parsley.  “Product photos don’t do the line justice.”

Best of the Best Judges Katrina Olson and Shad Thomas presented the award at a special ceremony during NAED’s 2012 AdVenture Marketing Conference on August 21, 2012.
