Ron Naus has been an active member of the IALD Education Trust and Board serving in several capacities over the past five years including Director at Large 2010-2012, and secretary-treasurer 2012-2014. Naus will begin a two-year term as IALD Education Trust Board President on January 1, 2014.

Ron commented, “Being part of this organization has been a worthwhile experience professionally and personally. B-K Lighting and TEKA Illumination are committed to the industry’s design professionals as a resource of innovative, practical and economical lighting solutions. Any time we have an opportunity to educate and enhance communication within the lighting design industry we are in our element best suited for our intended goals.” B-K Lighting and TEKA Illumination are also avid supporters of the IALD as Lighting Industry Resource Council members (LIRC).

Naus was instrumental in securing funding for the B-K Lighting and TEKA Illumination Stipend to Enlighten Americas. This stipend promotes the study of architectural lighting design by funding the attendance of two students each year at IALD’s annual conference. Students from all over the world have had the opportunity to attend Enlighten with this stipend.

Naus has demonstrated commitment to lighting design education through his ongoing fundraising efforts, especially through his promotion of the IALD Education Trust Blue Ribbon Initiative. The IALD Education Trust provides blue ribbons to all donors in an effort to increase awareness for lighting design education. Donors wear blue ribbons as visual symbols of their support. Donors are encouraged to wear their blue ribbons at all lighting industry events, so when someone asks, “what’s that?” it’s an opportunity for them to introduce the IALD Education Trust and explain how it supports education in architectural lighting design.

This year’s results of the elections for the IALD Education Trust Board of Directors were announced on Thursday, September 19, 2013. We would like to acknowledge and congratulate all 2014 Trust Board of Directors.
