Version 1.8 of Lighting Analysts’ Photometric Toolbox software adds some very handy changes for those who are serious about lighting. The latest version of the software has added intelligence- it detects improperly delimited files (missing carriage return or line feed), errors which are common to Internet downloads. These files can now be opened with Photometric Toolbox and saved, repairing the issue without delay.
Earlier versions of Photometric Toolbox might not have been using the best method to summarize the zonal lumen output from photometric files with very sparsely spaced vertical angles. These files are essentially missing the angles at the zone edges which affect the luminaire BUG Rating. “We now use a more rigorous interpolation scheme to do the best we can with the data provided,” says David Speer, Lighting Analysts Director of Sales and Marketing.
Other features include:
• Previously only calculated in the Indoor Report, LER is now included in the Road
Report.
• Absolute photometry is now supported in EULUMDAT format files.
• New BUG-2011 calculations in Photometric Toolbox v1.81
(v1.81 is a free update for anyone using v1.8)
