NEMA’s Electroindustry Business Conditions Index (EBCI) for current conditions in North America measured 56.3 in October, down slightly from 56.7 in June, the last time the index was released. Neverthless, October’s result, coming in above the 50-point mark, showed signs of improvement in the business environment. Respondents remained optimistic on balance regarding confidence in future business despite a fall in the October EBCI for North American conditions six months forward to 71.9 from 83.3 in June.
