Nora Lighting founders Fred and Jilla Farzan were recently honored by the showroom cooperative Lighting One with the organization’s Humanitarian Award. The award was presented at the Lighting One convention in Dallas during Lightovation.

Fred Farzan is CEO and president of Nora Lighting and Jilla Farzan is executive vice president. They founded the company in Los Angeles, CA, in 1989.

The annual award is presented to a Lighting One supplier who has exemplified the mission of promoting human welfare and social reform, said Angie Prost, Lighting One product and supplier manager. 

“Nora Lighting was selected as this year’s recipient because of their depth of charitable projects and contributions. They have supported a wide scope of philanthropic organizations, including local charities, national programs and international causes,” said Prost. “We chose to recognize them for their clear commitment to making their community and the world a better place.”

The honor was presented at Lighting One’s annual awards reception held at the Dallas Marriott City Center.

Lighting One Cooperative is a group of independent lighting showrooms throughout the U.S. and Canada with more than 150 members and 290 locations. The group promotes national business partnerships between local entrepreneurs and the lighting industry’s leading suppliers.
