Lighting Research Center Offers New Daylight Institute Series
March 1, 2009

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute’s Lighting Research Center (LRC) is offering the Daylight Institute, a series of five two-day seminars on daylighting design and daylighting control specification. The seminars are geared toward architects, engineers, and other professionals who are interested in designing sustainable daylighted buildings and in successfully incorporating daylight harvesting control systems into their building and lighting designs.

The seminars will include interactive lectures, demonstrations, case study reviews, and practical sessions that will involve participants in the process of daylighting design and analysis. Participants will also receive valuable tools that they can use to assist them in daylighting design, economic analysis, and the selection and specification of daylight harvesting control systems.

Each Daylight Institute is designed to include two, one-day sessions. The first day focuses on Sustainable Daylighted Building Design and the second day focuses on Design and Specification of Daylight Harvesting Control Systems. Attendees can register for either day or they can register to attend both days. The cost of the sessions is $100 per day and will include continental breakfast and lunch each day as well as all course materials and manuals.

Sessions will be held in cities throughout New York state including Troy, Rochester, and Syracuse.  Seating is limited, so please register early.  Participants will earn 6 AIA Health, Safety, Welfare Learning Units (LUs/HSW) for attending each day of the Daylighting Institute.
