Lighting Analysts Releases AGi32 Version 2.3 With New Multi-Processor Capable Calculation Engine
February 5, 2012

Lighting Analysts, Inc., a world leader in calculation and visualization software for the lighting design professional, is proud to announce the release of the latest major revision of their flagship program, AGi32 version 2.3. Through the use of proprietary kǎMR Technology™ developed in a joint effort with byHeart Consultants Limited of Vancouver, B.C., Canada, Lighting Analysts software AGi32 version 2.3 can now address all of the processing power in today’s multicore/multi-processor based computers, resulting in dramatic improvements in computation speed. This is the first time the Radiosity or Radiative Flux Transfer calculation process utilized by most lighting calculation software has been commercially introduced in a multi-processor, multi-core capable configuration.

“The benefits of the new kǎMR Technology engine are best witnessed on modern hardware utilizing six or more processor cores,” says David Speer, Director of Business Development for Lighting Analysts. “You can expect a speed improvement of approximately 1.8 times for every additional processor core.” This can make average calculations that previously took minutes now take only seconds, and more robust calculations cut down to minutes from hours. “Speed improvements are one enhancement that every user can take to the bank!” says Speer.

AGi32 version 2.3 also introduces the ability to resize Rooms and Objects through the use of a new Dynamic Edit command. This makes it easy to edit project 3D geometry when either a mistake is made on input, or changes happen later in the project evolution. This new capability also facilitates the creation of some geometric shapes not previously possible in AGi32.

A number of other enhancements are included in AGi32 version 2.3 that can save users time and make workflow smoother. A complete summary and discussion can be found at www.agi32.com, where prospective users can also download a 30-day Trial to take the software for a free test drive.
