Lighting Analysts, Inc., a global leader in calculation and visualization software for the lighting professional is proud to announce the release the latest upgrade in the evolution of our software program AGi32: Version 15.
AGi32 version 15 introduces a tremendous new feature to assist professionals in selecting the proper new lighting products to employ in exterior lighting retrofit projects: the ability to utilize images captured from Google Earth. This allows lighting designers to save multiple images of known site plans online, scale them and seam them together to form a suitable background on which to perform accurate site lighting calculations. This removes the need for site visits, distance measurements or searching for old site plans. Using AGi32 Version 15 you can have new lighting proposals ready for existing sites on day one, all right from your desktop.
“The ability to capture accurate images in plan view from Google Earth can save a designer an unbelievable amount of time”, says Dave Speer, Director of Sales & Marketing for Lighting Analysts. “You can even see the existing light pole locations clearly in the images making it as good as working from as-built design documents. Our customers are just loving this new feature”!
AGi32 Version 15 also introduces a plug-in for Trimble® SketchUp® allowing content from this popular 3D modeling program to be exported directly to AGi32. This opens up the entire online 3D – Warehouse® of SketchUp® content for use in AGi32 models. “Imagine better furniture, cars, machines and even human figures that are generally low in polygon count, and easy to incorporate into your lighting design models”, says Speer.
Several other enhancements intended to streamline workflow are also proving popular with users. AGi32 Version 15 displays a number of calculated metrics such as BUG Rating, IES roadway classification, total luminaire lumens and polar candela graphs when searching through random photometric files from any source resident on your computer or network. This new capability facilitates a faster and more informed file selection process. The software has also incorporated multiple functions into a single command in the case of Room creation with automatic calculation points and power density, effectively reducing three steps to one.
“Overall, we have tried to pay attention to our users comments in making the program faster and easier”, says Speer. Many additional enhancements are included in AGi32 version 15 and a complete summary can be found at www.agi32.com, where prospective users can also download a free, unrestricted 30-day Trial version.
