LEDucation 2019 Sets Record Attendance For 13th Consecutive Year
March 26, 2019

LEDucation 2019 Trade Show and Conference celebrated its 13th year in New York City at the New York Midtown Hilton on March 12–13, with over 6,000 attendees from regions throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe, and Asia. The event showcased 295 lighting manufacturers and offered 30 presentations with 29 AIA accredited seminars covering a wide variety of educational topics, from the latest in lighting design techniques to controls and code.

LEDucation 2020 promises to be even bigger. With such high exhibitor demand and the topic of lighting controls at the forefront of the industry, LEDucation 2020 has added 16,398 square feet of space dedicated to Controls and Components. The expansion will provide a fresh platform and an exhibit area specifically for the growing segment of the lighting industry that specializes in high-performance professional LED lighting systems, technologies, and solutions.

LEDucation 2019 attendees included award-winning lighting designers, architects, and interior designers. LEDucation co-chair Burt Grant, of Metro Area Sales, states, “We are pleased with the turnout of attendees this year. The exhibitors raved that the show attracted top professionals from the lighting design community whom they have been unable to reach elsewhere.” Specifiers, distributors, contractors, engineers and other industry-related visitors were also on hand to view the newest SSL products and technologies. In addition, the event attracted more than 250 student attendees from universities and colleges across the U.S. and Canada, who came to learn and network.

LEDucation is renowned for its continuing education conference topics presented by leading industry professionals, and received 142 presentation proposals for the 2019 conference. LEDucation presentations committee members Wendy Kaplan of Eureka Lighting and Craig Fox from ETC said, “The quality of speakers and topics gets better every year, and we were at full capacity at each session this year. The attendee participation was wonderful. Our goal is to repeat this next year.”

A networking breakfast presented by WILD — Women in Lighting + Design, was also held on Wednesday morning with a strategic discussion of the opportunities and challenges currently facing women in the industry.

LEDucation co-chair Caroline Rinker of O’Blaney Rinker states, “The show continues to positively impact the LED industry and lighting education, and its popularity and success is due to the support of our speakers, exhibitors, generous sponsors and volunteers, and the design and specification community.”

LEDucation will take place March 17–18, 2020 and return to the New York Hilton Midtown.
