LED Product From Cooper Lighting Honored With A 2012 Best Of NeoCon Award
July 17, 2012

Cooper Lighting, an industry leader committed to delivering innovative products and driving transformational technology in the lighting industry, has been honored with a Best of NeoCon® Gold award for its family of io® Tile Gen II LED luminaires. Earning top honors in the Decorative Lighting category of the 23rd Annual Best of NeoCon awards competition, these LED products add unique lighting colors to modern indoor spaces, offering architects and designers an array of creative design opportunities along with the ability to achieve greater light control and reduce energy consumption.

Featuring Cooper Lighting’s patented optical waveguide LED technology, providing functional and directional illumination, the Tile Gen II is a luminous, clean, geometric form that can be surface-mounted, pendant-mounted or recessed into walls and ceilings. The optical waveguide technology produces a highly directed light output, enabling accurate ray angle control, spread and uniformity. An anodized aluminum frame, less than ¾-inches deep, houses LED linear strips that serve to edge light the optical waveguide acrylic, delivering maximum efficiency and the right amount of light in the specified direction with no hot spots or glare. The shallow housing enables the lighting fixture to be recessed into tight spaces.

The Tile Gen II is available in standard square and rectangular sizes (6" x 6", 6" x 12", 6" x 18", 6" x 24", 12" x 12", 12" x 18" and 12" x 24") with custom sizes available. The family of fixtures features a variety of white color temperatures (2700K, 3000K, 3500K, 4000K and 5000K) and several hundred custom color options, allowing for both functional illumination and decorative applications. The luminaires’ infinite color and graphic options provide visual cues, brand identity (custom signage) and artistic expression to any environment. The protective lens and minimal heat protects the color gels and graphics, ensuring no degradation of color or images. With so many size, color and graphic options, Tile Gen II can be used sparely or in clusters to create Mondrian-style expressions. The luminaire is rated 50,000 hours at 70 percent lamp lumen output.

“We are honored that our io LED products have once again been recognized by this long-running, well-respected awards program,” said Cooper Lighting President Mark Eubanks. “We are always striving to develop innovative, energy-saving products that meet the lighting needs of our customers while also delivering on aesthetics and performance.”

The Best of NeoCon® competition, which honors new commercial interiors products, is sponsored by Contract Magazine, Merchandise Mart Properties, Inc., The International Interior Design Association (IIDA), The International Facility Management Association (IFMA), and McMorrowReport.com. Selected products represent 42 categories ranging from Architectural Products to Workplace Technologies. All winners are chosen from a jury of more than 40 designers, architects and facility managers who engage in the review and decision process.

Cooper Lighting has made a significant investment in people, resources and technology to ensure the company provides first-class solutions to its customers’ lighting challenges. The Company offers a range of indoor and outdoor LED lighting products and controls, all of which are specifically designed to maximize energy and cost savings.
