Kim Lighting Supports Community's Efforts To Honor Residents Killed In Sept. 11 Attacks
September 10, 2008

Kim Lighting, a leading manufacturer of outdoor architectural lighting, announced today it has provided outdoor lighting for the Chatham Borough 9-11 Memorial in Chatham Borough, New Jersey. The donation was made as part of Kim Lighting's "Shine The Light" initiative.

The terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001 claimed the lives of 13 residents of Chatham Borough, New Jersey. At a ceremony on Sept. 7, at 9:11 a.m., the town unveiled a public memorial to those killed, most of whom were fathers who were at work at the time of the attacks.

The memorial was constructed using two 12-foot beams from the World Trade Center. A waterfall graces the middle of the memorial, which also includes 13 plaques, one for each Chatham Borough resident killed. The memorial was entirely funded by private donations, as well as the services of local contractors.

"An entire town came together to pay tribute to 13 members of its community who lost their lives in this tragic incident," said Bill Foley, vice president and general manager of Kim Lighting. "Kim Lighting is honored to be able to support this effort and provide lighting to illuminate such a meaningful memorial."

Shine The Light is a national program developed by Kim Lighting that provides outdoor lighting products to community groups, non-profit organizations and municipal landmarks that are in need of lighting but lack the necessary funds. The initiative also raises awareness of the importance of proper lighting for ensuring community safety as well as beautification.

Kim Lighting is a leading designer and manufacturer of quality, high-performance outdoor architectural and landscape lighting products. These include roadway, pedestrian, low-level and building-mounted solutions for contemporary or traditional commercial, industrial and institutional applications. Kim Lighting, a division of Hubbell Lighting, Inc., was founded in 1934 and is based in City of Industry, Calif. More information is available at www.kimlighting.com.
