Hubbell Lighting Cuts Ribbon On New Lighting Solutions Center
January 12, 2017

Hubbell Lighting, a world leader in lighting innovation, announced today that it has cut the ribbon on its newly renovated Lighting Solutions Center (“LSC”).

The LSC, based in Hubbell Lighting’s headquarters in Greenville, S.C., serves as the centerpiece of its commitment to train, educate and develop solutions as lighting technology continues to evolve. It’s a collaborative environment that draws from over 200 lighting and technology authorities including the preeminent speakers and presenters at top-tier industry events.

In addition to the LSC, Hubbell Lighting’s 3,000-square-foot R&D labs are also based in the Greenville facility.

“The pace of innovation in the lighting industry continues to accelerate,” said Kevin Poyck, group president at Hubbell Lighting. “The evolution of LED technology has changed the paradigm of how we go to market, making the mission of the LSC critical to our success. This new facility, in addition to our R&D labs, will keep Hubbell and its business partners in a leading position for many years to come.”

The architect, McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture, worked closely with the latest in interior materials and systems providers and in conjunction with Hubbell Lighting designers to ensure the environment is a true reflection of the latest trends in the industry, while also providing a best-in-class training facility. Planning and construction was completed while retaining LEED Silver status of the building itself and upholding the beautiful architectural appeal that makes it one of the region’s most iconic and recognizable landmarks.

Although performance, value and quality of any Hubbell Lighting solution demonstrates commitment to improving the customers’ lighting experience, it is Hubbell’s unparalleled dedication to customer training and education that makes it one of the best partners and trusted advisors in the industry. The LSC has played an instrumental role in the selection, application and recommendations of Hubbell Lighting product solutions for its customers and industry trade partners.

“The newly renovated space has been designed with flexibility in mind and includes demonstration areas dedicated to key vertical markets,” said Rebecca McCall, director of the LSC. “We empower participants to tackle relevant lighting issues in a practical way. Each usable space has been designed to include a variety of lighting applications and the latest in available system solutions. The inclusion of advanced lighting controls along with the latest in LED luminaire technology allows our staff to educate visitors on such advanced topical areas as circadian rhythm while experiencing the visual impact of controllable color change.”

Since its founding in 2007, the LSC has hosted 10,000 agent, specifier, contractor and distributor customers, taught more than 1,000 classes and awarded approximately 80,000 hours of continuing education credit.

McCall went on to say, “As we develop new products, we can swap out the old in real time to showcase the flexibility of LED technology.”
