World renowned lighting designers took the stage at the Light Focus Conference currently underway as part of Light Middle East at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Speakers explained the design, technology, special challenges and innovations behind two of the region's landmark projects, amongst other topics to a gathering of the region's leading designers, developers and industry professionals.
Jonathan Speirs of Speirs and Major Associates, the chief creator and designer of the celebratory lighting of the Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi addressed the conference delegates, elaborating about the particular challenges posed by this monumental project and the special conditions that had to be met while undertaking the lighting for a landmark.
Founder and President of Focus Lighting Inc., New York, Paul Gregory was another speaker to attract the delegates' attention. Gregory spoke about the lighting applications involved in illuminating the Atlantis hotel, for which the focus team was responsible for illuminating.
The Light Focus conference is being held alongside Garden+Landscaping Middle East 2010, the region's largest trade event for the garden, landscaping and outdoor living industries and Light Middle East, the premier event for urban, architectural, theatrical and retail lighting solutions in the Middle East.
