aleddra LED Lighting, a business unit of Lightel Technologies, Inc., today announced its single-ended and double-ended T8 LED tubes are classified according to the new UL 1598C safety guideline for LED Luminaire Conversions, Retrofit.

"We are excited to announce that out LED T8 replacement lamps are among the first to meet the new UL IFAR/1598C safety guidelines" states Patrick Yu aleddra General Manager. "This demonstrates our long-term commitment in supporting industry standard towards reliable and safe LED T8 replacement lamps for the market. In addition to aleddra's flagship double-ended lamp with safety switches, we are introducing our single-ended LED T8 lamp for use in new fixtures that will be cost effective." Both LED T8 lamps are IFAR 1598C and now this gives our customers the best choices in retrofit and new construction.

The original effective date of 1598C was to be July of this year but has since been moved to February of 2013, so as to give companies with 1598B compliant LED T8 lamps more time to upgrade their lamps in accordance to UL's new standard. "Having the double-ended LED T8 lamp, 1598C compliant for retrofit projects, gives our customer base the first of two options during this approval period. aleddra also developed its newest single-ended LED T8 for new construction where a new fixture is needed to replace older fixtures or qualify for local Utility rebates," according to aleddra's National Sales Manager, R.B. Evans. "We've basically doubled our product offering for the lighting trade, while meeting the most current UL standards, putting the aleddra LED T8 in a class of its own. Our goal is to help lighting contractors present an LED alterative for lighting that achieves reasonable ROI targets set by utilities".
