Thank you to all who participated in the tenth annual DOE Solid-State Lighting R&D Workshop, held January 29–31 in Long Beach, California. With passion, enthusiasm, and lots of new ideas, nearly 250 attendees explored such questions as to how to get SSL to make its next leap forward and how to accelerate market adoption.
The workshop offered a rich mix of perspectives and insights from manufacturers, research institutions, industry, academia, and government—and a unique forum to discuss innovative concepts, new directions, and key barriers that stand in the way of moving the technology to the next level. The input gathered from attendees will inform updates to DOE's SSL R&D Multi-Year Program Plan, which is widely consulted by government and industry both here and abroad, and also guides DOE's SSL funding solicitations.
The workshop presentations and materials are now available.
